Since 1955, Forestburg Public Library has been serving the residents of Forestburg and area. It is part of the Parkland Regional Library system. Membership to the library is free and brings you access to nearly 10,000 items locally – books, audiobooks, DVDs, Blu-rays and CDs. With your card, you can use databases hosted on the Parkland Regional Library website, from Canadian Points of View to current newspapers and magazines. Or maybe learn a new language with Mango?

And if you can't find what you want at our library -- request materials online through interlibrary loan. And with the new ME card,  you can go into Alberta libraries outside of the Parkland area and borrow materials directly (you just need to register your card for the library systems you want to use). Materials borrowed can be returned to any library you wish.

Don't do much with paper these days? You can borrow eBooks and eAudio through EBSCO and 3M Cloud Library, watch movies with Hoopla and read magazines with Zinio. For details, check our website.

The library also offers home delivery in-town to housebound patrons. We have free internet access (4 stations). Free Wi-Fi may also be accessed anywhere inside or near the library.

For those with a visual or print disability, we offer Large Print books, audio books, Daisy readers for loan and access to the CNIB Library.

A variety of programs for kids and adults are offered throughout the year. Check the website for more info.

Hours of Operation:

Tuesday-Friday: 10:00am-5:30pm

Saturday: 10:00am-1:00pm (closed long weekends)

Effective Immediately, the Forestburg Public Library is closed until further notice to help limit the spread of COVID-19. All programs are suspended and we will do our best to reschedule them at a later date. The health and safety of our community, staff and patrons is of the utmost priority. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

During our temporary closure, we are taking several steps to ensure library services remain available:

-If you have materials currently on loan, you can still return them. Our outside book drop (the brown metal box by the main door) will remain available while we are closed.

-Patron support and information services will continue to be available online. Please email Sarah Tonowski, Library Manager at or reach us via Facebook’s Messenger or InstaGram’s DM.

-Please visit and log in to your account to access eResources, including eBooks, eMagazines and eAudiobooks.

-Exams will not be proctored during this time, nor is the library available for bookings.

Thank you for your support, understanding and patience during this difficult time.

The Friends of the Library supports the library by promoting the library and conducting fundraising projects.
