Enforcement Activity Update for Residents

Today Administration Officials and the Bylaw Officer undertook enforcement efforts concerning a municipal property recently taken by the Village for Tax Forfeiture.  Following the refusal of the occupant to comply with our Order, RCMP and RPACT team members were called into the community to assist municipal officials in having the Order complied with.  After discussions with and an assessment of the occupant, these enforcement officials declined to enter the property and remove the occupant in compliance with our Order.  The Village is now applying for a Court Order to require both the occupant to vacate the property and for the RCMP to enter and apprehend the occupant is they do not leave the property voluntarily.  We will be requesting the earliest possible issuance of the Court Order and will act once an order from the Court is granted.
